The Day After Tomorrow

My first film VFX project, The Day After Tomorrow tossed me right into the fire. I was given responsibility for the flash-freezing effect in the New York exterior shots. This mostly just meant freezing the Empire State building and the buildings around the library. I also did lighting and shader work for these shots as well as a little matte painting for the Empire State building. Once those shots were complete, I moved on to do particle work for one of the helicopter crash shots. These were all done primarily in 3ds Max and rendered with Brazil R/S.
